“The quality of your writing will reflect the time and forethought you put into the assignment.”“Students who struggle with writing generally do not plan ahead; rather, they compose their text as they write.” @udanium The point is to differenciate between note taking and writing down what you think, vs trying your luck to find a good text@jcolman @udanium You can relate from your design practice: designing to find out what to design… probably better to start with a concept :)@jcolman @udanium Whether you agree or not, you should explore the other side of the argument. It is unknown and astonishingly solid.@jcolman @udanium Of course, it happens that, writing, you might find out that you thought you knew but actually don't.@jcolman @udanium Pretending to know what you don’t know is bullshit. To research: think, take notes, verify until you are ready to write. Most possibly, @dark_shark might find interest in @iawriter: @udanium You shouldn't write without knowing for the same reason you don’t work on brick walls without plan—there’s enough bullshit@jcolman @udanium To find out what you think: Think, verify, research, take notes. Then, when you know, write: @udanium Write what you know. Write to learn to express better what you know. Don’t write to find out what you think.@interplato No, but you have Time Machine and Dropbox Versions. Ask @iawriter for more assistance or visit Your files are yours alone. Who else would have access?@FUKAIdesign The iOS app with no symbolic icons and the menus is very utilitarian this time. But so are mobile sites vs desktop sites.@FUKAIdesign Yes. At over 1 Million users laws change. We made configuration really hard in this version though. (Long tap, then tap again).@ptujec Yes.@FUKAIdesign We didn't kill all icons, because, rather than being ideological, we were curious to see when icons are needed and when not.@FUKAIdesign Right. We found that the needs for additional keys vary so much that offering configuration over three swipes was necessary.@FUKAIdesign Hidden in the list of keys. We don't expect people to change the keyboard, but it is possible. Hidden, but accessible via configuration. I think it says "Select" now (useful, as you can modify selection with arrow keys).@evalottchen What a life!Killed last pesky bug. We are submitting iA Writer 3 today. Here’s what you’ll see on iOS. It’s a… romantic relationship for sure.@michaelloistl That’s how it used to be. Now it’s (see 2nd answer):

Last Beta of iA Writer 3. Yes, we were very strict with arbitrary and reference icons. Resemblance icons got a pass.
“Don’t be the one to try to teach the world a new arbitrary icon, though. You will likely fail.”
